The Canon LP-E4N is a high performance replacement or spare battery that is designed for the Canon EOS 1D X. The inside of the battery now uses a larger number of smaller cells and so the battery capacity has increased from 2300mAh to 2450mAh. The Canon LP-E4N is suitable for previous EOS-1 series cameras and the older Canon LP-E4 is also compatible with the new Canon EOS 1D X. The Canon LP-E4N battery should only be used with the new Canon LC-E4N battery charger, however the older LP-E4 batteries can be charged in the new battery charger (Canon LC-E4N) with no problems.
